On the Call for Mail Art: the Envelop as a Continent(1).

On the Call for Mail Art: the Envelop as a Continent(1).

From the beginning of the “expoetry'08” project, we consider it important to emphasize that poetry is at the basis of every communication as long as communication is at the basis of every piece of poetry.

Through this call, we have tried to give relevance to the envelop as base and mean of communication. In fact, the illustrated envelop, needless of housing anything inside, constitutes in itself Mail Art.

This is the reason why the content inside the envelopes doesn't appear in the blog.

Nevertheless, it might've been seen and manipulated along its exhibition at Spazio Grossi.

We have opted for this possibility even being critical about Mail Art Projects, since these misrepresent in a certain way this practice, such understood as communication from person to person, in order to become sometimes a product for consumption and alienation, as Joan Molina (JOMO) observes in his articles:

ON THE ISSUE OF ART-ACTIVITY'S COOPTION, September 2006; ABOUT MAPS (Mail-Art Projects); and a few more things, November 2006.

To sum up, we expect this to act as stimulus(2) for reflection.
